Our Craft

Each piece of Alder & Ash furniture begins as a rough-sawn oak board, carefully selected for grain pattern and structural integrity. Our artisans use traditional joinery techniques — mortise and tenon, dovetails, and dowels — that have held furniture together for centuries.

We finish every piece with a low-VOC, water-based sealant that protects the wood while allowing its natural character to shine. The result is furniture that ages gracefully, developing a rich patina over years of use.

Our Materials

We source our oak from responsibly managed forests. Our workshop runs on efficient, low-waste processes, and we recycle all wood offcuts into smaller pieces and wood fuel.

We believe that making furniture built to last is itself a responsible choice. The most environmentally friendly piece of furniture is the one you do not need to replace often.

Our Promise

Review the product details and order terms for information about materials, care, shipping, returns, and any applicable warranty.

Have a question about our process, materials, or a specific piece? We would love to hear from you. Get in touch with our team any time.
